Our 2007 Vintage :first award! Our MENETOU-SALON RED 2007 received a GOLD MEDAL at the General Agricultural Contest in Paris.
Our 2006 Vintage :latest awards! BLANC 2006 : As we first introduced our 2006 to professional clients at the wine contest of the Loire Valley in Angers, our MENETOU-SALON BLANC 2006 won a LIGER d'OR (gold medal). It also received a GOLD MEDAL at the General Agricultural Contest in Paris.
RED 2005 :awards Our MENETOU-SALON ROUGE 2005 won two SILVER MEDALS in a row at the General Agricultural Contest in Paris, in 2006 and in 2007. We also received a LIGER DE BRONZE (bronze medal) at the wine contest of the Loire Valley in Angers for our MENETOU-SALON RED 2005 cuvée "EXCEPTION".
Our estate has been the first -and to this day, the only one - of the vineyards in the Centre-Loire region to be certified "Agriculture Raisonnée" (sustainable farming) and "Quali'terre" (reference on environmental practices).
To offer you a better warranty, safety, and traceability, we put in application the HACCP method.
Environnement In order to protect the environnement, our vineyards are greencovered. A sorting + recycling + valorisation system has been created for our waste, packages, by products and so forth.

THE spectator "Menetou-Salon is one of my favorite appellations. It's a Sauvignon Blanc from the area next to Sancerre, and has many of the same charactéristics. I happen to enjoy them slightly more; there's a richness to this 2006 from the Domaine Chavet which I find extremely appealing. Like the price: not having the world renown of the Sancerre label they have to charges less, which is our gain." SIMON HOGGART
THE TIMES Our MENETOU-SALON white was quoted in first position in the "Top 100 Summer Wines" ranking of June 10, 2006. "Not a great run of sauvignon from the Loire here, so thank goodness for French specialists Stone, Vin & Sun's stand-alone offering. Menetou-Salon is a Sancerre satellite, but delivers sauvignons that are a shade lighter than the original. What you get here is delicate, leafy green sauvignon fruit with a fine floral finish that makes an ideal aperitif or restrained first-course wine.
THE GUARDIAN Our MENETOU-SALON white was ranked among the "Top 40 wines in the world under £10" and received a silver medal. September 12, 2004.
HACHETTE GUIDE TO FRENCH WINES 2007 "The Chavet family grow wine together in their estate and practice sustainable farming. The deep purple colour [of the red wine] reveals lighter violet shades. It has a main nose of red berries ; together with touches of vanilla and roasting. Supple at first, the tanin is eventually revealed in the mouth; it finally becomes harmoniously balanced. We awarded the white 2005 with a star and the rosé is referenced here.
CUISINE BY CYRIL LIGNAC (MAY-JUNE 2007) Our MENETOU-SALON White 2005 is referenced among the three wines selected by Sophie Levêque, a wine waitress and collaborator to Cyril Lignac, the famous French chef.
HACHETTE GUIDE TO FRENCH WINES 2006 "This estate is well-known to the guide's readers. In 2004, the white wine has attracted most of the jury members. A nose, enhanced by fruity scents (grapefruit, orange), gives way to a mouth which at first is sensitive to the tenderness and softness of the taste before becoming lively and persistant. This balanced wine sould either be served as soon the guide is launched or a year later. This guide also refers to the red and the rosé of the same vintage, the first for its nice fruity taste, the latter for its intensity."

Very aromatic with, let's say, pure features. in the mouth, its generous flesch as well as its lively volume are revealed.
